Understanding Relion Ventolin HFA Inhaler: Dosage and Administration

Always follow your doctor’s prescription and instructions exactly. This information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice.

Standard Dosage

The typical dose is two inhalations, twice daily. However, your doctor may prescribe a different dosage based on your individual needs. Never increase or decrease your dose without consulting your physician.

Using Your Inhaler

Check your inhaler before use. Make sure it’s not empty and the canister feels cool. Remove the protective cap. Shake the inhaler well for 3–5 seconds before each use. Breathe out fully. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and close your lips around it. Begin inhaling slowly and deeply; at the same time, press down on the canister to release one puff. Continue to inhale slowly and deeply for 3-5 seconds. Hold your breath for 10 seconds. Slowly breathe out. If prescribed two puffs, repeat steps 5-9. Rinse your mouth with water after each use, especially if you’re using a corticosteroid inhaler alongside your Ventolin HFA. This helps prevent oral thrush. Replace the protective cap.

Special Considerations

Children: Dosage and administration for children will be determined by their doctor. Always supervise children using the inhaler. Missed Dose: Take your missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Never double the dose. Storage: Store your inhaler at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight.

When to Contact Your Doctor

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any adverse reactions such as increased heart rate, tremor, nervousness, or headache. If your symptoms worsen or don’t improve after using your inhaler, seek medical attention promptly.
